The 600ws AC powered monolight champions at recycling, scoring a blazing 0.9 second 183GN full power charge with total R2 wireless remote radio integration built in, to interface with all of the R2 Family of products.
R2, the new proven standard in wireless flash, now welcomes one more distinct platforms for excellence in fantastic lighting, joining the Rapid 600 to the XPLOR, STREAKLIGHT, ZOOM, and R2 Transmitters, designed to suit the wishes every type of photographer, from aspiring amateurs to demanding photographers and every shooter in between.
And in this impressive model, the professional specs don't end with power and speed. Exact digital detail, Power, Mode, Flash Duration, Sync, Channel, Group, and Custom Feature is displayed clearly on the graphical LCD panel. The onboard Manual controls are in a Tenth (0.1) of a stop increments and, depending on the remote transmitter linked to the flash, at Tenth's with the new companion
R2T32C
controller, or 1/3 stop, with R2 camera remotes. Throughout the 8 stop range, color and flash duration is spot on. A special stable color temperature mode assures even tighter tolerances, up to 1/4246s, and under Multiflash Mode, where the stroboscopic frequency can reach 99 flashes per second. The controllable flash duration is so rapid, it is possible to arrest action at 1/28984s, with up to 10 exposures per second, or take it easy with 'slow' duration at a spectral rich 1/316s burst.
The R2 HSS legacy continues,
with up to a 1/8000s synchronization possible across any R2 remote trigger on all supported camera formats. The incorporated R2 radio links to transmitter signal up to over a 100m/328ft range with 32 channels and up to 16 individual groups. Of course, you can simply fire connected to the standard PC port. AC power means there is no limit on modeling lamp use, with an adjustable 5-100% bright 150w quartz lamp. Both the replaceable flashtube and model bulb are protected by a UV glass protective cover, surrounded by the industry standard Bowens S-Type 60 degree high efficiency reflector.
Small, lightweight, yet tough and durable, the R2 radio enabled champ has advanced functions you would expect from the highest class of strobe technology. Besides the aforementioned HSS and color stability, the Rapid 600 boasts Flash Curtain Delay selection, Optical Slave modes, Slave Sequence Detection, Audible recycle notification and Modeling Lamp modes.
The expanded capabilities of the R2 remote modes assures that a TTL remote signal can coincide with a Manual command to a non-TTL device such as this Rapid 600.
