    Description

    10 karat yellow gold military ring with worn eagles on either side of a red oval stone, and "Military" and other illegible lettering around the stone (almost certainly ---???????--- Military Academy) .  The ring weighs 13.2 pennyweights gross, and measures size 9.  The red stone measures 7/16 inch high by 5/16 inch across.  Marked on the inside band "J.E.C.& Co. 10K" (for J.E. Caldwell & Co. of Philadelphia, PA).  Hand engraved on the inside band "J.M.Young, Jr."  There are tiny chips and scuffs on the stone, and the decorative eagles and lettering have been polished down considerably, otherwise in good sound vintage condition.
